How long to make a custom tank?

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new tank, thinking of going custom.

I'm looking for something in the 6' range, 180-240 gallons.
Most likely would need a custom sump too.

And I'm in burnaby BC, so I will need shipping.

Typically how long does it take from the time designs are completed and confirmed, to the time it would reach my door?

cool name by the way, that is my chinese name way back in the days


but as for the answer to your question
none polished tanks takes any where from three to four weeks right now
polished tanks can be four to six weeks depending on how back up they are

I got a concept tank made from start to finish was no more than 4 weeks. The procedure was quite simple if you know what you want. I did a 48x28x24 tall tank which is a great foot print for my place. I don't think I would ever go back to a production tank anymore since the boys at concept did a good job on my tank. I regret not getting the sump done by them but oh well, I can always get it on a later date.

I think if I can offer you 1 advice on the build is to make it shallow 20-24 inches max to eliminate wet armpit effect. I did one piece euro bracing and I don't think I would trade it for anything else and the coast to coast overflow is also important to me.

Agreed. If your getting a custom made tank take don't cheap out. And a custom made tank is actually way cheaper than a store bought tank.
Oh and another thing to do is not let them use particle board on the bottom. It looks so terrible

Mine has the plywood bottom but I had the glass blacked out so you can't see it. You can only see the edge at the bottom which is easy to cover up.

I think I read the plywood adds stability? Is it not necessary? Or perhaps I can have it painted white first?
