A 400W SE in a Lumenarc will cover 48x48 if hung high enough, since it's "supplemental" program your APEX to shut it off if tank temperature rises above 82F or whatever.

That is what I was looking for, but my next question is, is the manufacturer for the Lumanarc, Lumenbrite, Lumenmax line of reflectors gone?

The closest I can find is one seller in the UK, along with a Chinese knock off going under the same name. Or the Hamilton brand of clones. It appears I may be too late to jump on the tried and true method of lighting.

Also if I have read the intertubes correctly, as long as I use a single ended bulb I don't need a UV shield, just a splash shield. Since this will be centered over my clam bed, and I'm going with Dersa and Squamosa clams splashing is a possibility

My thoughts also. :-)

A 250 would be a waste on that big of tank
