The White thing on the heater is a spacer to keep the heater off the glass

As to the lights they are LED lights built by a friend with a kit he got from RapidLed.com with dimmer switch it is currently set to 50% brightness and I just raised it from 40% because of the coral

sorry for picture quality took with my Iphone4

there are
6 Blue
4 White
1 red
1 Moonlight

The current setup looks awesome it reflects just the right amount of light that it almost looks like natural light and produces no heat I have it hanging over the tank with a clothes rack I bought from Crappy tire which frames the tank perfectly

Eventually hoping to have a more permanent light stand for when I have more money(Never ending story in itself lol)

Uhmmm, I think that is just a packing spacer for the end of the heater when it's in the box. Pretty sure it's not meant to stay on the heater when in use.

It is a packing spacer, but it also works great inside the tank. I kept mine on so when I work in my sump and my heaters get moved around, they are not smacking glass on glass. No problems with it being on at all.
