![]() Through a bit of neglect, the area just above the sand line is quite encrusted with algae and some corraline algae.... its probably 9 months worth of buildup since inception of my new tank. I do keep the upper glass area clean with a mag float but not the area below due to fear sand will grind scratches between the magfloat cleaner. What is the best brand of tool(s)to clean this? I have Kent scraper ( with handle, removable yellow metal blade ) but it will probably take hours so I gave up. Did anyone buy the new and improved mag float-scrapper combo device yet: flippercleaner.com?

![]() I have a kent scraper, and had the same thing, gave up on using it since it was such a pain and clipping corals. I got the mag float attachment that has a blade on there from JL and it works great. I did the font top and bottom that always got missed, then went on and cleared my whole back of the tank that was covered in coraline. Didn't take much at all.
Only downside is that with the stainless blades, they do as any stainless product can do, and rusts. I leave it in the tank permanently, and have used 5 blades in the one year so far from rusting. Not bad overall.

![]() I use the easy blade that you attach to the mag float.
http://www.jlaquatics.com/product/cl...g+Magnets.html I do not leave it in the tank I alway take the stainless blade out, don't like the idea of it rusting in the tank. Great product, gets in all the corners and below the sand line. |
