Yes, it will work but plants grow better under the full daylight spectrum (6500k).

thanks guys, i am running 2 watts per gallon (54watt bulbs each) and i will be buying a Fluval Pressurized 88 g CO2 Kit. i would like to keep some lower light red plants like Ludwigia Peruenis,Cabomba.
i have right now, Cryptocoryne Balansae Plant Rotala Indica Spiralis (Cryptocoryne spiralis) Wisteria java moss
