lighting?
just started my new planted tank, have a question about lighting. i have two 54watt t5's. one is a 6700k and the other is a 10,000k daylight my question is does this work for a planted tank? the 10000k is really what i am wondering if i will see any growth from this bulb?

with freshwater its more about watts per gallon then the k value as i understand. I have on top of my planted angel, two t5 ho's that are 39 watts each. Just make sure you dont go super high on watts or youll need co2. As well what kind of plants are you having in your tank? red plants need higher light then say jave fern or moss. Good luck as well if you not running co2, pick up some flourish excel it has helped me out big time

Yes, it will work but plants grow better under the full daylight spectrum (6500k).
