![]() did you ever find out why the base cracked?
edit; no that i have looked at the pic again i think i know why. I have read that a tank that has that black rim should be placed on a flat SOLID surface, not a soft surface like that foam. Only tanks that are trim-less should be on foam (acrylic or glass). Maybe someone else can chime in this. Great resurrection though - congrats on the successful rebuild. ![]() Off to a great start there. I love the look of all your zoas etc on the clean rocks the colours just pop! Good luck with this tank... I know all too well how nicely a cracked bottom drains a tank!

I'm curious, what was the defect that had you replacing the bottom in the new tank? A chip or something else?
