Mine leaked pretty much from the same spot, brand new out of the box. I just took the cover off, cleaned where the oring seals, pmade sure the the drain plug was tight and tighted the bolts a little extra. Havent had a problem since.

tried that and didn't work, also tried replacing 0 ring and still no luck. Have another pump and replaced the body and leak is gone. Not sure what to do with the leaky pump though.

I haven't seen these pumps myself but have worked on thousands of others. This pump uses a mechanical seal. The hole on the bottom of the adaptor plate on some models is only there to let you know when the seal is leaking. It doesn't take much to damage these seals, even placing the sealing faces on the counter could cause micro scratches that will cause a leak.
