Dart Gold Pumping Leaking Help
I acquired a Dart gold pump a while back. Now installing pump, and it is leaking. Water is coming out of the bottom bolt. Does anyone know why and how it can be fixed.
update: changed 0 ring and lub with silicone lub, undone bolt and put back together and still no luck. Finally took apart another dart pump I have and replace body and no leak. what to do with the extra now? inspected plastic body and no cracks. http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...g/P7140855.jpg |
Check your O ring might be worn out or have dirt on it.
Take all the bolts out and have a look at it. |

took it apart and lub 0 ring with silicone lubricant but still leaks. Does anyone know purpose of the hole. That is the only place it is leaking from.

Mine leaked pretty much from the same spot, brand new out of the box. I just took the cover off, cleaned where the oring seals, pmade sure the the drain plug was tight and tighted the bolts a little extra. Havent had a problem since.

tried that and didn't work, also tried replacing 0 ring and still no luck. Have another pump and replaced the body and leak is gone. Not sure what to do with the leaky pump though.

I haven't seen these pumps myself but have worked on thousands of others. This pump uses a mechanical seal. The hole on the bottom of the adaptor plate on some models is only there to let you know when the seal is leaking. It doesn't take much to damage these seals, even placing the sealing faces on the counter could cause micro scratches that will cause a leak.
