![]() It also depends on the flow. My guess is that this is in an area of higher flow and therefore the bubble tips would cause too much drag on the tips.

![]() Yeah, BTA.
It's not really well understood why they lose bubble tips in tanks. Generally they come and go, sometimes a change in flow or lighting or after a split the bubbles can come back but usually not forever.
