When buying the basswood, be sure to inspect the grain because occasionally I find some very "open" grained pieces that don't work as the bubbles produced are too large. (I found out the hard way)
I make my stones 2"X2"X7" with a 13/16" diameter bore.

There is a huge Hobby store across Lougheed on Brighten, (up from JL's), call them. Roy's hardwood usually has a huge selection of exotic woods.

I believe if you cut 6 pieces from the end of a square length of wood and glue them in the form of a box, then insert the air feed you will get better results.
