From normal hard drives???? I'd be down for some for sure I have a dew old 4g hard drives and such, would they have the super magnets?

The brackets are actually flux collectors, cutting in half or removing the magnets will reduce the strength substantially.

A flux collector is a simple device, it takes the power of the magnet on one side and dumps it to the other side almost doubling the power.
