At work when we decommission servers we physically disassemble the hard drives for security. This leaves us with a nice collection of rare earth magnets that will break finger bones if your not careful. The Magnets are larger than the buttons above and would require they be cut to size but I'm willing to offer a couple to someone in the lower mainland if they are sincere in trying to make something with them.

For the most part they are mounted on steel brackets held in place with spot welds.

The brackets are actually flux collectors, cutting in half or removing the magnets will reduce the strength substantially.

A flux collector is a simple device, it takes the power of the magnet on one side and dumps it to the other side almost doubling the power.
