This leaves us with a nice collection of rare earth magnets that will break finger bones if your not careful. From normal hard drives???? I'd be down for some for sure I have a dew old 4g hard drives and such, would they have the super magnets?

Yikes! I wouldn't be trying that photo with my Great White magnets... Even after using them for 3 years now, they still scare me.
