If money is not a consideration, then go with the 2 x 36" units (if you're thinking heavy sps tank), since you mention possibly needing 3' units later on. However, this option will cost quite a bit more, in terms of initial cost, bulb replacement & electricity, not to mention the added heat.
If its a mixed reef or mostly lps & softies, go with the 6' light. Anthony

I am running 6 bulbs TEK T5 on my 36" Tank (65 Gal) SPS doing very good.
However i still think that DE 250W MH is better light for SPS. 400w for deeper tanks. The only real draw back is a heast. If your tank is in "colder " place (basement etc) i would go with MH, if heat is a problem go with T5. On my next tank i will consider 250w DE MH instead of T5. jmo |
