Need your opinion

Looking to get lights for my new tank 6'. I have the option of getting a 72" 3-250 watt halide and t5 or get 2x36"-total four 250 halide with t5. The only reason i would be getting the 36" is because of in case i need to it down the road. Please give me feedback.
Also, do you suggest AQUAMEDIC OR HAMILTON?

If money is not a consideration, then go with the 2 x 36" units (if you're thinking heavy sps tank), since you mention possibly needing 3' units later on. However, this option will cost quite a bit more, in terms of initial cost, bulb replacement & electricity, not to mention the added heat.

If its a mixed reef or mostly lps & softies, go with the 6' light.

Go aquamedic for style alone unless you like the Hamilton industrial look.

Aquamedic. Way nicer looking unit.

I am running 6 bulbs TEK T5 on my 36" Tank (65 Gal) SPS doing very good.

However i still think that DE 250W MH is better light for SPS. 400w for deeper tanks. The only real draw back is a heast. If your tank is in "colder " place (basement etc) i would go with MH, if heat is a problem go with T5.

On my next tank i will consider 250w DE MH instead of T5.
