Ampmaster 3000?

I have run 2 ampmaster 3000's since 2003 without issue or replacing seals.

That's awesome. I guess I just have to test it first before plumbing it in. I never got a chance to test it when I bought it because of the large fittings. Any idea what size the fittings are. I measured it and I have male threaded both in and out of the pump and outside diameter is almost 2 1/2" including thread. Seems awfully big. Thanks so much.

The ones I have are designed to be used with 1.5" pipe - they come with a union at both the the intake and output sides.

I see....I didn't get the unions when I bought this pump used. I guess I'll have to take the pump to a plumbing store to fit it. Thanks a bunch. You have cleared my doubts about using this pump.

Hi Dez

I have used my Ampmaster for 6 years and I have not replaced the seals yet. I am getting a bit of salt creep around the drive shaft. I just knock it off about every third month. You can buy replacement unions and seals directly from Dolphin Pumps.

. Maybe you're just feeling old, ha ha. I just feel like I'm having to re-learn everything. I talk to people here at the fish stores etc and they'll tell me it's all "old technology". It's tough to keep up! I will try to refrain from that phrase hence forth sir!
