HAve friends that have one of these.Neet dog but wow what a pig. They had to velcro shut the fridge cause he figured out how to open it and would help himself to everything. They came home one day and he had eaten an entire Ham. He was laying on the floor feet straight up un the air groaning..they thought he ws a goner.

We had to do the same thing with our last dacshund he opened the fridge and ate a pound of raw chicken breast and then opened the pantry and ate 11 kaiser buns. We had velcro on the fridge and baby locks on all the cupboards haha.

I told him if he went out in public looking like that all the dogs in the neighborhood would laugh at him. Only way you can get him for a walk without freezing up though.

As we mentioned, this is how possessive they can be. One of our suitcases when we went away for Christmas. Not going without me.

That is so cute! Yeah these little guys need a sweater at least in the winter, my old dacshund used to freeze up outside and we would have to get him. Mind you we were living in regina and winnipeg for most of his life. In calgary with my guys its not to bad, but we have had some -30 days this winter. Thats when you have to force them outside or we might find a "treat" hidden somewhere in the house.

These dogs are notoriously hard to house train, i hate to say. As soon as you see these dogs with their nose down and turning in a circle grab em and whip them outside, because usually they are looking for a good spot to go. They are fantastic at hiding their "treats" too. . A little patience goes a long way.
