I say no. I run side by side tanks of the same depth. One has an AquaConnect and the other a Phoenix. The AquaConnect at least to my eye is much brighter and the phoenix looks to be a tiny bit bluer. Bulbs are about the same age.

I have both AC 250 & Phoenix 250 and like them both a lot. They are similar in specs but ACs are made in Germany & Phoenix are made in Japan. Phoenix are also at least 1/3 cheaper. I have old Aquaconnects over my reef but will replace with less expensive bulbs (including Phoenix) but still 14000ks.

this is a very well known article, I couldn't find it but will keep looking but if anyone has a link, please post it.

Sanjays analysis did show that they were identical.

I see enough differance that I will replace the Phoenix with an AquaConnect when the time comes.

Thanks.. But Ive seen it. Im not going by PAR im going by what my eye sees and I just like the look of AC bulbs better. AC's are like $50 more, but when you factor that over the life of the bulb it makes little differance to me. I like what I like

do ac make de bulbs ? ... i read somewhere that you couldnt get de 250w bulbs .... can only get them in phoenix .... ??? i donno im confused now LOL
