Proof that fauna Marin works?

The negative responses to this are kind of interesting in their own way.

It seems to me like there is a tendency within the aquarium hobby to look upon a lot of vendor's messages as "Oh look another guy selling magic goop". Obviously this is a reaction to a lot of aquarium product companies slinging a lot of magic goop over the years. This has left a lot of us, myself included, seriously jaded. Call it the "Marc W " effect maybe.

However if you step back and look more carefully you'll see a shift happening. A lot of vendors are reaching out to hobbyists like we've never seen before and it seems to me like Fauna / Aqua Digital are a pretty good example of this. There are others too like Eco Tech and ATB, all of them have in common an effort to not just engage in marketing messages but actual dialog about their products.

I can understand somebody's first reaction to info about UltraLith and similar stuff being "oh look magic goop", I was right next to them at one point. If you take the time to look at what they are saying about the stuff you can see it's definitely not a magic bullet and they're not trying to sell it as one. It is pretty neat stuff though.

Anyway, whatever you think about ULN systems or UltraLith in particular you've got to give the guys some respect for being as open to dialog as they are.

well said , All you can do is tell people abou the product. you can't force them to use it. ,just show the results at the end of the day if some one wants to try it then that is great. If some one doesnt want to try it then that is fine. You will alway get some one that says what the heck and ask many question s before buying it. that is life and that is whe way the people operate they want to see reults before getting involved with it.
Not every tank is going to react to the supplements all the same some will disagree with the Fanua and some will tkae to it. Some tanks will crash when using it now id it from the product due to them totally stopping the product and going to something else? Or is did the people use the product the way he was instructed to use it, and that person got to gung ho and added something that he wasnt supposed to add.

SOme people want the perfect system to havePerfect levels on everything and 0 on every reading, May be Fauna will do that for some tanks, then there are tanks that probaby won't accept it that easy. So people can't afford Fauna, some people cnat afford ZEO, some are jsut bull headed to give out negitive thought s on the products, due to hearing it from a another reefer that it didnt work for him its not going to work for me.

IMO people are going to have different views on the product some will like it some will love it and some will just don't care to look at.

I just want to thank everyone for their input even the negative camp, it is rare that such a thread can stay as on track as this and I thank all of you for that.

I think from the recent posts the message I am tying to get across is getting there and I will continue to offer reviews product information and great support, and hope i can help turn this industry round into a more client focussed business.

I have used this system for 1 1/2 years now and My tank rocks because of this stuff.. I use bak, bio, mins and Amin and powertrace 1-4 . and of course the Lith.. Ultralife has been amazing aswell for polyp extention.... Works for me.. so i dont care what people say....

I will try and answer your valid questions as you list them

1st. Understand how to use it correct.

When purchasing fauna marin you have clear direct access to me, if a new user provides me with accurate data on their system, i will then personally set them up with a dosing schedule for a 14 day period. That user then has access back to me at any time within that time to ask any questions that may come up. After two weeks we should have a clear understanding of what your tank requires to achieve the goals you personally want.

2nd. Understand how it will help me.

Education! Let me know what your aims are and we will match a product to that need, never providing anything you dont need just for the hell of getting a sale, as my philosophy stands, one off sales dont build a product brand!

3rd. Its cost comparison with the other products I use now, that are pretty cheap.

Ok lets look at one product Ultra Min-S, this is the key ingredient that locks everythign else together

100ml will set you back $25.00, ok so how far will that take you.

Based on the average tank of 90 gallons (350L) on an average dosing of 1ml a day this will cost you $00.25c a day to run.

Ok so you want to use the product basically for what Mike has used it for.

Phos removal
Nitrate reduction
Polyp extension
Colour.

To achieve all that without going down the full Lith route, you require the following

Ulta Bio 50ml ($54)
Ultra bak 100ml ($25)
Ultra Min-S 100ml ($25)

Ok shock horror over $100!! But now lets see how far that will carry you for your 30 gallon system (100L)

Ultra bio
Dose until phos and nitrate have gone @ 2drops (not ml) every third day. Once the nutrients are down decrease to 1 drop. At this rate the bottle should last you 4 months (90 days)
Cost $00.45c a day

Ultra bak
Dose daily at 1ml a day
Cost $00.25c a day

Ultra Min-S
Dose at 1ml a day
cost $00.25c a day

Total cost a day for running this will be approx $00.95c or $6.65 a week

Now how much have you spent on products that only do one thing like phos removal, and does that product really do what you hoped it would do?

The above is based on average starting nutrients and a maintained tank that has a 10% water change a week.

I,m glad to see it staying on track. And agree, its great to see the retailer of a product willing to debate its use on here. Great thread for those of us that are thinking of using a product and those that just wish to check it out.

So, several times I see the reference to polyps extension. Part of the reason I posted the extension pics on my thread. I cant see it better than that. Plus my colors are coming around nice. So I have to wonder how the product will benefit me.

I would like to use it on my tank but really need to

When picking up my new cube the other day, I purchased a nitrate & phosphate kit. First time I have owned them in about 10 or 15 yrs. Again, as seen in my pics, I have the same red turf algae Mike has. As a matter of fact, thats where I got it several years ago. .

Running normal phosphate remover does not seem to help and the Fauna products Mike are using for that sure do seem to be helping him. {my reference to Mike here, is Asmodeus, not Mike from Fauna}.
