i used the no-no3 stuff which looks like a similar thing and it worked well but since it would be for 300g of water id have to set up something to make it less of a pain, at least it comes in a large size so i might give it a try.

Yeah I found in my tank it took about 3 weeks before I saw results but it really laid waste to the nitrate after that. I see he's got a graph on his site now so you can see what to expect. I've never tried any other nitrate reducing products so I can't really compare but I was pretty impressed with this stuff.

the no-no3 worked well also but for over $20 a month i wasnt gonna keep up with it on a tank that size

This product just looks like vodka/other carbon sources in a marketed form. No offence intended.

I also used the Nitrate Destroyer and HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!! It was amazing...now my levels are excellent whereas before they were the darkest pink you could get on the chart
