![]() lol I love the livestock!
Any reason you didnt make the corner braces on the stand go from the floor up to the top of the stand (rather than between the horizontal pieces as you did)? I just figure it might be stronger to transfer the weight of the tank to the floor via single pieces of wood rather than three distinct pieces. |

![]() The single top layer is best, as it will end up being flatter. I would have the legs go all the way down on mine and just built the bottom frame inside the legs. Just personal preference. One it is all screwed together, the legs and the bottome frame will move and act as one, transfering the weight to the floor evenly along the whole bottom.

![]() The reason I did it this way is so that not a single screw is taking any weight....the screws are just holding the wood together!!!

![]() Well it's been a couple weeks but We finally got our glass for the overflow and Euro Brace. Also did some more work on the stand, got the plywood down and the foam so it's ready to go!!
The Euro Brace is 5/8" thick and 4" wide, The overflow is 5/8" thick and is 6" deep, the two side supports for the overflow is 3/4"(reason for such thickness is that bow valley had scrap pieces kicking around so we got them cheap!) ![]() We are planning a Tank Lift party on Sunday May 4th. We'll be offering BBQ foods along with Rock Band. By that time the tank should be drilled and ready to be set up on the stand.

![]() This was the reasoning I used for doing the exact same thing on my first tank. Will do it again!
