lol! This accident is going to be 100% her fault, she also avoided giving me information and avoided my attempts to contact her. This lady was a really winner if you get my meaning. However I will feel bad if the gatekeeper from above has to contact the lady.

I could see how that conversation would go Gatekeeper-"can I speak to the man of the house?" Lady-"I'm sorry but there is no man of the house" Gatekeeper-"What do you mean no man?" Lady-"I don't have a husband therefore no man" Gatekeeper-"well ma'am I have to speak to a man so go get yourself a boyfriend" Lady-"well I don't like boys so that might be a problem" Gatekeeper-"what do you mean you don't like boys errr omg click... dialtone.... lol

Hi Catherine,

This sounds like a very frustrating situation, and being an insurance broker in the industry, it upsets me a great deal when people do not recieve the service they should get. Do you purchase your insurance directly through an insurance company, or is it through a broker? If it is through a broker, you should be able to talk to someone at the broker's office for help. If you are calling the broker, well, I won't comment on that, as anything I say will not be nice.
If you are the only policyholder, then they have to deal directly with you. If you are dealing directly with the insurance company, and it is a company I handle, you could shoot me a pm, and I could help you out. As I am not your insurance broker, I legally can't get directly involved, but being a broker, and former claims adjuster, I think that I could probably give you some advise to get this rolling quicker if it isn't already.
One other question, are you calling your insurance company/broker or the person that hit you's insurance company/broker? If you are calling the other person's insurance company/broker, this may be the reason they are treating you like this.

Ryan

Could this "gatekeeper" be the same lady that damaged your vehicle?? Would totally explain why she's running round the ring with you

Ive read through this post and am still confused. Who is this gate keeper? Is she the lady that hit you, your insurance receptionist or the faultys insurance receptionist?

The Gatekeeper is the crazy receptionist lady at the insurance company. I have another term for the lady who hit me, but its not forum appropriate.

I got everything sorted out and rolling now. Dialing those random numbers really paid off. I now have a direct line to someone within the company and I'm pleased. Its not the insurance company that has issues, it was the receptionist lady.

If the receptionist has issues, maybe she needs to find different employment. I'd be discussing that with the manager

Good luck with your claim, it's too bad that the "gatekeeper" slowed things down for you. Some people should be ....... (fill in the blank) made to smarten up (basically)
