I have been using these. But I doubt they will do 1.5"dia. I have submerged them many times to make frags and they still open and close with ease. I think the coral clipper at the top of the OA page would work way better on something like that.

Hey Marie, I'm not going to recommend any pruner to you. But when I was fragging some sps, I was frustrated by loosing the frag I cut off. My solution was to glue some soft foam to the sides of the cutting edges of my angle cutters I was using. After snipping with blades, the foam caught and held the frag so it didn't fly away. Not the answer you were looking for, but I thought this might be usefull to you.
