Does anyone know where i can get a good pair of coral/bone pruners? Ones that can cut through an inch thick acro branch without damaging the surrounding tissue too badly

Would these work? If so, I can pick it up & bring it to you next trip.

Check out online medical supply stores. Stores that also sell farming supplies may carry something similar.

I have also heard of people using dremels, and regular side cutters.

I am hoping for something tried and true that someone has used and know they work . I also need something that can be used inside the tank so a dremel is out.

I will at some point in the future be looking at pruning this guy down, some of its branches are nearly an inch and a half thick and I don't want to end up doing a hack job on it

I have been using these. But I doubt they will do 1.5"dia. I have submerged them many times to make frags and they still open and close with ease. I think the coral clipper at the top of the OA page would work way better on something like that.

Hey Marie, I'm not going to recommend any pruner to you. But when I was fragging some sps, I was frustrated by loosing the frag I cut off. My solution was to glue some soft foam to the sides of the cutting edges of my angle cutters I was using. After snipping with blades, the foam caught and held the frag so it didn't fly away. Not the answer you were looking for, but I thought this might be usefull to you.
