Moved to the right forum. Now, too much for what? What size tank, what are you planning on keeping (now and in the future)?

Again, depends on what you want to keep. SPS and clams would like that light, most other stuff, not so much. And heat might be a concern, depending on your hood style. I have 2 400w on my 75g, so you would be ok, depending on what you want to keep.
