pair of hi fin gobies ![]() or two spot gobies ![]() For shrimp I will go with 2 of them BLood shrimp ![]() sexy shrimp i will do 4 of them ![]() once the tank is sorted out and going good i will be housing SPS Milli, Acros, With that the tank will have a HOb Refugium made out of a Aquaclear30 or a 500. But this is over time and i will be using my own water from the 170 gal and rock from there too ,

![]() I like your fish choices... I think any of them would be pretty cool. I really like the neon gobies myself. The two spot gobies are very cool, very unique looking.. but their diet seems a little too "iffy" to me.... but hey, it's YOUR tank!
![]() Looking forward to seeing this progress ![]()

![]() Twin Spot gobies eat mainly sand bed fauna. As a result, you need a fairly large and active sandbed to keep them well fed. Unfortunately you won't be able to do that in a 12G JBJ.
I should also note that I don't think you should add a Coral Banded shrimp. As they get larger they will most likely go after your other shrimp (especially the smaller sexy shrimp) and your small fish. I think a pair of Rainfordi or Hector gobies would look nice in that tank. Another thing to try is a pistol shrimp/goby pair or a yellow headed jawfish species tank.

![]() That's a nice looking nano!
And my aplogies for the "iffy" part on their diet. I didn't read the Liveaquaria page properly! Oops... haha, I'm bad for that. I thought it said it should be fed all live foods, and not frozen. Hence why I said their diet seems "iffy" My mistake! Sorry about that *edit* haha, and in the end I was still somewhat right, haha go figure...

![]() Michael,
With the gobies, sounds like you need a male/female pair so they don't fight. Might be hard to distinguish male from female in all species you picked, though I'm no expert. Also, the two spot goby grows to 3" while the other two only grow to 2". Personally, I would go with only one (not a pair) of the 2" species, and perhaps get a mid-water swimming fish, though I don't know what to recommend in that regard. Also, DO NOT get a coral banded shrimp! They are predators!!!! Especially in a small tank like yours. Plus, only go with one species of shrimp, either one blood or four sexy. Or two blood shrimp if you only go with one goby and no other fish. Try to keep your bioload to a minimum and you won't have cyano or other nuisance algae problems down the road. Kind of a stick in the mud, aren't I ![]() ![]() |
