Personally my only worry in that tank is the lion... I haven't seen the big eel in that tank in forever - is it even still around?

After our CJ92 "Gerry Forbes Toughest Contest Ever" promotion, I’m happy to say, as I fully expected, the shark, eel, and everyone else in the shark tank are great.
Thanks to everyone who showed up and supported Big Al’s. I apologize if you were unable to get into the store just prior and during the shark feeding, the store was packed from the front to the back.
I’m disappointed in everyone who chose to jump on the “Bash Big Al’s” bandwagon regarding this promo. Maybe look deeper into the matter and ask questions before you start posting. It not like we just set up our shark tank yesterday and don’t know anything about their care.
A lot of planning, time and effort went into this promo, with the animal’s health being our number one priority.
Only one person, Tony, phoned me and voiced his concerns regarding this matter and I explained the safeguards in place to protect the animals in the tank, but you still posted your questions. Why?

Guys, We’re a business; we had a promo, that’s it.

The only reason this event happened was just explained to everyone in your post.

But truth be told, most people where not there to support BA's at all! In fact they where there to witness a sensational contest gimmick. Nothing more and nothing less.

Did you think of posting in this thread before the much publicised event?
After all if you felt that there was so much BA's bashing going on, it might have been more appropriate to try and calm people before rather than post defencively after. (Just my opinion though.)

Did Tony or yourself post in this thread what transpired in your conversation? I don't see it!
So asking why people still posted their questions makes no sense at all. (I think most people here are not mind readers!)

I don't care one way or the other what you people at BA's do with your fish and hope your promo(Gimmick) pays off for you.
Maybe you have attracted enough new buisness to justify the loss of old buisness that you could perhaps face.

I really had no opinion on the subject untill your "We're a victim of bashing" post.

Just like with with any other odd ball contest or promo there is always a chance that others will not be in agreement with you, BA's must have looked at things from all angles and decided that this was something they wanted to do. (Kudo's to you for that.)

You people made a buisness descision that you felt was right for your organization and went with it.

Now you have to accept that some people might not see eye to eye with you and deal with it.

Trying to come across as the victim of some kind of internet bashing might only further alienate those who have supported your buisness in the past.

(Feel free to pick on all the typo's in this rapidly punched out post if you wish.)

*EDIT*

No need to wory about me taking my buisness elsewhere...... I done that long before this contest ever even existed!

Cheers

No matter how you cut it, I see undo stress induced on the livestock we are supposed to treasure. A stunt like this in my opinion, may be beneficial for the said store. But, now who did you entice to buy your product? I'm quite sure it's not anyone who has the knowledge to keep the said livestock healthy and happy. Only to encourage someone to buy a marine organism that they may keep alive for a day or two. Sorry, I don't buy the "business promotion" aspect. In fact I choose not to buy at all.

I have always felt that the whole "shark feeding" thing was just a trashy gimmick. I, therefore have very little to do with BA's. Putting a radio guy into the tank made it even more trashy. My own feeling has always been that BA's cares very little about their livestock. This trashy event has done nothing but reinforce that feeling.
