i have a vertex 150 and love it but I think your volume is too much for it, try and find skimmer rated for atleast 200gallons for your setup

Im using an aquamaxx cs1 and am very impressed with it. I really like the design they used. At first the bubble plate.looked weird but the extra cones definately add an extra kick in its performance versus a regular bubble plate I had on my swc. Sent from my SGH-I257M using Tapatalk

Try to go for something rated for about 2x or so more volume than your tank. U will need it if u wanna have a full blown healthy reef in the future. Don't listen to stores. See if u can find a high end used skimmer on here km sure u will get a killer deal.

The Vertex Omega 150 won't even be close to big enough and the Cad Lights 1350 is a bit small too. The Aqua Maxx I'm not familiar with, but it appears on print to be able to handle the job. The Bubble Magus I think would be a good choice - I know several people running them who quite like them, and from what I've seen they are performing well. They seem to be reliable too. Curve 9 review (does complain about noise though): http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=88466 Last edited by Myka; 02-23-2014 at 07:50 PM.
