Default Please Help Me Choose a Skimmer for My New Build

I am in the process of getting 120G 48x24x24 tank made with a 50G sump (tank build thread to come). As usual, I am getting myself all confused by the various choices out there for various products. Most of all with the choice of skimmers. I consider this one of my most important choices so want to do it right.

Based on a bunch of research I have drilled it down to the following four skimmers and wondering if anyone has any views on which one would work best for my build. I know there are a million different opinions on this, but just want to hear some of those.

Here is what I have come up with (in order of what I think is the best choice):

1. CSC-150 Cone Skimmer (http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-st...-150-200G.html)

2. Super Reef Octopus 2000 (http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-st...0-Gallons.html)

3. ATI PowerCone I-Series 200 (http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-st...n-skimmer.html) - this one is quite a bit more expensive

4. Reef Octopus Extreme Diablo XS 200 (http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-st...me-XS-200.html)

Thoughts and advice?

Digital what was wrongwith the Vertex cones Like the Vertex 200 cone. a amazing skimmer. and that are not that much either.

Have you looked on RC to see what you can get. you can get a decent priced Bubble King skimmer at a really low cost.

If you want PM me your budget and sump size and i can ask my US friends on a price too for ya .

Doesn't matter how much you have been reading until you take the plunge.
You don't know as much as you think.
