![]() Hi Folks,
Hoping to get my overflow running over the holidays. I have this : http://www.aquariumsupplies.ca/overf...00-p-6171.html What parts do I need that I can't get from a hardware store? I'm putting in an order online tonight and most places sell fittings/etc so I thought I would just order them with my order. Do I need to buy bulkheads? Returns? Ball valves? Help.. lol |

![]() Hi i have the exact same overflow box and am also trying to get a sump working. what was recommended to me from the person who sold it to me is 1" PVC. Just jam it into the bulkhead (with cement) and voila you have a drain.
i have mine all plumbed up but now it's just about getting the rest of the plumbing figured!! |

![]() Is this cement permanent or can it be removed?
I'm already thinking of an upgrade.. lol.. And I want to be able to use this same overflow on a bigger tank. |

![]() yeah it's pretty permanent. if you wanted to keep the permanent plumbing to a minimum, you could just put 6" of PVC in there with glue to start the drain and then add a valve. Everything from that point down is potentially temporary.

![]() Hi,
So I won't pretend to know too much about plumbing... especially because I'm right in the middle of messing it up myself, but I thought you might like this visual at the very least. Good luck! |
