![]() So where do you guys store your freshly made or back up RO/DI water?
Is there any home hardware store that sells those big plastic rectangular containers where you can store liquids? haven't had much luck finding any place that sells them. |

![]() I just use the brute trash cans for holding water and mix tanks. As to finding the storage tanks you want try ufa depending on the size you want.

![]() Our Co-Op here in Langley sells them in the Hardware department. these barrels are used barrels usually have had fruit juice in them, the place they get them from sterilizes them so they are very clean . I guess that's why the price is good. They are used by a lot of the farms around the Fraser Valley. Make sure it comes with a lid. I'm sure other places sell them as well. Try Craigs list or googleing Blue plastic food grade barrels and I'm sure there will be lots of places. I just used the Co-Op because I know they will only sell good stuff. You will have to install the float valve ,overflow & drain yourself, not hard though. Cheers

![]() I also use the grey Brute trash can with lid. Home Depot sells them and you can get them in 20gal, 30 gal and 50 gal I believe. The code on the bottom verifies they are food safe.

![]() I use the brute 20 gallon bins from Home Depot I have 2 of them one for salt one for fresh I also have 5 five gallon pails for water changes and storing all my salt water stuff all of which is stored in an unused corner in my kitchen.
You can also go to many restaurants and ask to get pails and buckets from them as almost all their buckets and pails are food grade and generally don't reuse them and end up being tossed. Best places to get them from are places like Boston Pizza, Pizza Hut, Moxie's, Tony Roma's and any others that go through a lot of product weekly just ask for the manager or kitchen boss. Try to stay away from Asian restaurants though as many tend to use strong chemicals to kill bacteria as many of their products are kept raw and generally not frozen to maintain freshness and may contain trace materials harmful to an aquarium. |
