Default Is this a coral?

Back in January I bought a big peice of LR. On the rock was this round brown 'thing' you see in the middle of the picture. At the time it was hard, and rough.

Over the last week, I've noticed its been growing. I can see it move in the current. Is it some type of coral?

Looks like a Pavona to me.

Not sure of the type, but I like the link to the bigger picture idea.

I got a colony of what looked like the same stuff on a batch of Indonesian LR (looked identical)...I can only say that mine was definately an encrusting stony coral...resembled porites and montipora a bit, pavona a little less. In the end I couldn't identify it...it grew to the surface area of a CD case in a mid-light fluorescent tank in 8 months.
