VHO setup with workhorse ballast

Just wondering if anyone knows the approx. cost of how much it would cost to set up 2 95w VHO's with a workhorse ballast. Thanks.

I have 2 95watts running from 1 workhorse 7. Works fine.

only one ballast is needed . try to get a standard product ballast i find they work alittle better than the workhouse .

Can you run two 46.5 inch 110 watts VHO bulbs on the workhorse 7 ballasts??? Or is this load too much of a strain on the ballast.? Don't want anything to catch on fire.

I"ve had two 110's running of a workhorse 7 for 4 months now. No fire yet!

I was thinking of using the waterproof ice cap ends. But I think Brad (reef_raf) had his end caps catch on fire. The ends were getting too hot. I was just going to us 36" 95 watt VHO to be safe. can anyone comment.

I'm running 2 x 95watt from a workhorse 7 with the icecap waterproof endcaps. No problems so far in the last 20 months. The ballast does gets warm though so I have it raised off the back of my canopy using some leftover eheim noodles from my freshie days. No problems whatsoever.

yes he did and we found the problem that caused it. I believe he is still running only 2 wires for each bulb now though. I am still running two bulbs in series with no problems for over 2 years now.

two 48" tubes is the max you can do with the WH7 in series. yes it will decrease the on/off cycles a little and if you use all 4 wires like myself probably more. But mine have turned on and off once a day for over two years (well one of them... I broke the other and had to change it

) also remember the workhorse is mostly used for situations where they are cycling on off several times a day and they don't nessasarly understand that a reduced on/off cycle number doesent affect us as much as if it was used for a light in a freezer or such.
