Could someone please explain to me how exactly this works ie: what do you hook it up to, one pump, four pumps, no pumps, where does it go, etc etc.

I have read all the info on it and i just dont see how it works, its driving me CRAZY o_O

Thanks,

Beth

I think I saw these for sale over at aquaria.ca - a little pricey, but Canadian? Hey!

Whoops sorry for the double post.....

I did a quick search and didn't find anything so I posted the info.

Beth....Just in case the other thread doesn't clear things up... what the device does is switch one input (one pump) to 8 different outputs in a sequence (I believe that there are 3 different sequences available)

There is a center portion that is for lack of a better description shaped like a donut with holes going through the side as well. water comes in the center and exits out a hole or multiple holes on the side.

It rotates in the center of a block that has chanels machined in to it that direct the flow from the center rotating peice to outputs. As it rotates it lines up with different outputs so it will switch the flow from one input to 8 different outputs.

The 4-way is just a scaled down version of the 8 way. (4 outputs instead of 8)

I hope that this helps....If not... check out the Picture link below they show the device in action.

SO, water flows from a pump to the unit, which rather than just dumping it all in one spot, segregates it into 4-8 chambers at different times?

So, overflow -> sump -> pump -> ocean motion -> output 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8?

Thanks for the help, I get confused with all the mumbo jumbo =(

Yeah you got it

Here are some video clips

THis is the 8-way in action
http://www.oceansmotions.com/paul/video/1000%20gph.wmv

Here is another product that they offer called the revolutuion. it is a rotating output (bad explanation but the video should clarify) it rodates the output every time it is activated from the 8-way

This looks like a great product, I am looking to build a sump this summer and this could help get to the 'low flow' area's at that time.

Thanks for the link
