![]() This is a sad post. I hate to loose fish, but guess it happens. Hope it helps someone else.
As you know, I purchased a baby Regal from Jayson last week. It was one of the captive raised tangs. Regals are extremely fragile when new as it is. These were pretty tiny. As most it played dead in the bowl as it was being conditioned for the tank. Once in, he took to the tank excellent. Eating great, have algae in the tank that he was eating also. One morning he was up tight to the overflow, dead. Dont know if something happened and he floated there of as I suspect, he was hiding behind the black acrilic covering the overflow. When small they like to wedge in cracks at night. I figure he was hiding there and got hinself stuck against it. Mucho current going over. It was very healthy looking, right up to the end. We also were wondering if this huge hairy crab I have been trying to catch was part of it. I finally broke a rock apart the other day to get him out. Anyways, if anyone else gets a Regal that small, be careful. If I do purchase another, it will go in the more quiet 170 for now or perhaps even better, in my refugium for a couple months.
