I'm wondering what kind of anthias this is... and if it's male/female?

looks like a lyretail anthias to me, and male from the length of the fins.

That'd be a male longfin wrasse. Most likely P. hawaiiensis but could possibly be a P. ventralis.

Just got home to check my books. Definitely a Hawaiian Longfin Anthias (Pseudanthias Hawaiiensis)

It's a male P. hawaiiensis. Where did you get it? It's a very rare fish.
