So I leave home to CA tonight and I know that I can't pick up clams, coral, ... but is there anything I should think about picking up at the LFS down south that I might not find up here locally that is permitted? Just wondering.

where in Ca are you going? you won't find any real deals on dry goods unless you find a good sale or clearance on a product.

I'm in Orange County, just south of L.A.
Are inverts CITES protected too? I was thinking about picking up featherdusters and such... Wow, got into LAX at midnight and there were signs everywhere saying $50,000 fine for animals, etc. brought into LA... hrmm... JT |

You may have a hard time with most livestock. When I moved from LA to Whistler we basically hid our livestock, but of course we were in a car travelling with the aquarium, etc.!
One thing that you should look into is some nice live sand. If you end up in the LA area there is a place called Pasadena Tropical which is pretty good. Best, Rob |
