Default Little Giant return pump question

Hi All,

Can someone tell me if I have chosen the right pump? I have a standard 90 and an Eshoppe 300 sump with an Eshoppe 200 p/s. I will be getting the hangon eshoppe overflow (2 holes). Will the Little Giant 3-MDQX-SC be sufficient for my set up 3-4 feet of head max Please let me know. Thanks
Mike

That might be to much? Should have about 900GPH with that head. Might have to throttle it back. I have a LG 4 mdqx and I had to throttle it back for my 50g sump. I have dual 1" drains and it was to much at wide open. I am going to change for a 300-500GPH pump for my sump return I think. Less flow there, more Closed loop/powerhead flow in tank

What Little Giant pump would you suggest? I must stay with that brand because my work sells that brand and I get them much cheaper. Thanks

Personally, if staying with LG, then the 2 should be plenty IMO. Will be approx 600GPH which should be lots. Not familliar with the Eshoppe stuff, but usually rule of thumb I have been told is 10x sump volume for turnover. so 30g sump 300gph flow rate through it. Now it all varys to setup, drains etc. My sump could handle my LG 4 at wide open, but my drains can't fully. Also, I belive, slower througyh sump, more contact time for skimmer and anything in your refugeum section or what have you
