Default My New Skimz Monzter E Series Skimmer Arrived Today!

We it took about two weeks to get it but the wait is finally over! I know these are coming to North America soon but I couldn't wait so I ordered one right from Singapore.

It arrived well packaged

It has a twist style neck with rubber O ring

Here is the Pump

Water level control

Some very nice acrylic work and compact size for a skimmer rated up to 200 Gal

That's when I noticed the crack!

I sent Skimz an email with pictures showing the damage. I guess now I get to find out what their customer service is like. I was hoping to get it running right away but I guess I better wait for their reply. They have been very good to deal with up till now so I hope it all works out.

I really like how there are nylon threads to remove from the base. Means you can run this thing in a pretty tight and shallow stand and still be able to remove the body for cleaning.

The break isn't through to the reaction chamber is it? Won't a little bit of weldon fix that up nice and not effect performance? I'm sure you want what you paid for though...

The reaction chamber wasn't affected at all, I could run it just fine as it is but like you said I paid for a new skimmer so I expect it to arrive in that condition or Skimz should do something to make it right. They have been very friendly, sent lots of emails, and followed up with me after they had shipped it. I am confident they'll take care of it.

What tank will you be running this one on?

I am in the process of upgrading my Seahorse tank. The new tank is a 27 Gal cube. I know it seems overkill but I wanted a large capacity skimmer with a small footprint because Seahorses will pollute a tank faster than any fish I have seen. They have to be fed often and produce a lot of waste because of their short digestive tract. I wanted a skimmer that will keep up (and I couldn't resist buying one), I also wanted one that will be suitable for the next upgrade which I know will come very soon.

The skimmer you bought is directly from Singapore? For I just purchased a cone skimmer BM200 Bubblepioneer (Singapore) from Hong Kong 2 weeks ago.

It is from Singapore. It's surprising how quickly things ship from there.
