Default Can anyone identify what this is?

We have a couple of spots of what looks like jelly-like packets of what, we don't know. The are white with some opaque, some transparent areas. They have not grown or changed since we got the tank 2 months ago. Just curious what they may be. I have tried taking a pic with not great luck but here it is. There is a couple of these spots right in the middle of the shot.

I had something like that (and still do)....Maybe someone will know

.....mine is more white and I think that mine is sponge. I have lots of it growing in my sump. I am not sure if that is what you have though.

Can you get a closer up picture?

could be a couple of things spunges.

May even be a very small rock Nem that comes out at night they have some color to them. check at night with a flashlight to see, if it is one of the little rock Nems they are harmless and only come out at night they do not like light. They syay small I have a coulpe in my tank right now one has purple or blue huw to it and the other has a bit of brown tint to it. These two are now atapsia or mojano I've poste pics before and have confemed this. Besides atapsia and Mojano will come out during the day in bright light these other one do not like light.

A better pic would help?

Bill

I would guess they are blue sponges....hard to see it.... a closer pick would be great!
I should also get my eyes checked... apparently I can't read either.

If they have the shape of a pinnapple then they are pinnapple sponges.

Yes leave them as they are good. Will wax/wane depending on the nutrients in the tank.

I've tied 6 different cameras now and various lighting conditions and still not able to get anything closer. Even in Photoshop, I'm not able to pull anything better than that pic right now.

These are not the pineapple sponges though I do have some of those as well.

I've been "stalking" the tank too to find if anything comes out of them at night with no luck on there either.

It also doesn't look like blue sponges when I google those. They are quite white/greyish actually.

Thanks for the ideas though, keep them coming. One day we'll figure this out or I'll get my hands on a better camera. One or the other....

Might have to dig out the trusty 35mm camera next, LOL.
