Default GHL Profilux - Why you want one!

The GHL Profilux is the most powerful and user friendly aquarium controller on the market. Designed and built by German engineers, the Profilux is fully expandable in a similar fashion to that of a home pc. When you purchase the entry level unit and want to add additional probes, lights, LAN, etc you simply open up the case and drop the upgrade card into the open slot in the mother board. Please note that this does also apply to upgrading your GHL Profilux to the GHL Profilux Ex. GHL Profilux Plus II is also “future proof”, meaning that when the Profilux Plus III comes out it will also just be an upgrade from your existing Profilux Plus II!!

Parameter Control
Right out of the box the Profilux Plus II comes equipped the control water temp and ph with temp probe and a ph probe. But you can also control air temp, humidity, pH, redox, salinity, conductivity, and oxygen.
In order to run a calcium reactor on a salt water aquarium in order to maintain calcium, alkalinity and magnesium, controlling pH is an absolute must. As the effluent that a calcium reactor outputs has a very low pH, your tanks pH level must be continually monitored and controlled in order to prevent it from dropping too low and potentially wiping out the entire tank.
Another method of controlling calcium, alkalinity and magnesium is through the use of a system referred to as the “Balling Method”. The balling method utilizes a set of three dosing pumps to individually dose exact quantities of calcium, alkalinity and magnesium to match the exact requirements of your tank. While a calcium reactor can only put in a static amount of calcium, alkalinity and magnesium, the balling method doses the exact amount of calcium, alkalinity and magnesium that your tank requires. That means that you can have rock solid, dead on parameters 100% of the time! And this is exactly what corals need to look their best and grow the fastest!

Auto Top Off
The GHL Profilux covers your entire auto top off needs right out of the box. Whether you are just looking for a straight forward auto top off system or an integrated multi-staged water replenishment system the GHL Profliux has you covered. By simply installed the sensor on the designated port, and assigning the switches to run your ATO pumps, the system is up and running in seconds! Also, exclusive to GHL, the top-off water sensor switch can be located outside the tank. This special sensor monitors you water levels right through the glass ensuring that they will never foul from typical build up associated with internal sensors. This special sensor, equates to less maintenance time and greater reliability.

Variable Flow Capabilities
We are all very aware of exactly how important variable flow is to the health for our corals. Well the GHL Profilux is also a controller for up to 8 of your Tunze controllable pumps, the Tunze wave box and Koralia controllable pumps as well!

Weather Effects
The GHL Profilux is capable of creating some excellent effects and features with lighting that include sunrise, sunset, cloud cover, moon cycles, lightning storms and rainy days.

When we were first introduced to this features we though it was a nice feature but mainly for our benefit. But once we had the moon cycle feature running on our own systems we soon realized that it did actually contributed to coral spawning and multiplying. The full benefit of this feature was first noticed on our aqua-culture facility manager’s personal tank. We have been fortunate enough to be able to get in a rather uncommon red mushroom from the Caribbean. We have several of these mushrooms distributed through several fellow hobbyist’s tanks and over the past few years none of them have multiplied except for the ones with the GHL light bar which are running the moon cycle on them.
