How many people's dsb looks totally alive right to the bottom.I have about a 4 inch sand bed that looks dead 3 inches from the bottom only on the one side of the tank,is this a concern?

Main tank: 6" DSB with the top 2" that looks alive.

Refugium: 4" DSB with the top 2" that looks alive

Most of the creatures that you can see moving or evidence of them moving are in the top 1 or 2 " or the aerobic zone.
