sump divider

I got a 15 gallon tall for my sump. I have a Deltec MCE-300 which will be in there so I have 11" left for a divider and a return pump. Is it best just to have one sheet of glass dividing the skimmer and pump or have a couple of dividers? What height is best for the divider?
