Default sump question

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about adding to my current sump and ran accross the idea of maybe doing a sump fo rmy skimmer on its own and then where I currently keep the skimmer making that into a refugium. So my thought and let me know if this will work or not is to have the overflow go into the new rubbermaid container with the skimmer and then housing it slightli higher then the current sump and gravity feding it to the sump wich with then house the fuge and the return plumbing ?? Any thought ideas would be greatly appreciated.

PS - the reason for this is a bit temporary as I will be upgrading to a larger tank in the future but have purchased a new skimmer that fits however is a bit tight and that way I could add a fuge where the skimmer use to sit.

Thanks !
