![]() more than likely your have these, if you have a clam they will be all over it like flies to poop!

![]() It is very unlikely that your snails are baby Cerith. Check your clams and Astrea snails if you find the snails on them then they are Pyramidellids. If your Astreas and clams don't have Pyramidellids or you don't have any clams or Astrea snails, then your snails definately aren't Pyramidellids as they will die without a host. Then the snails you have are likely to be Rissoids. Rissoid snails are Pyramidellid look alikes, but Rissoids are good. Was that confusing?

![]() Here's a good article mainly talking about clams, but you can use the same methods on your snails. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-09/jf/index.php

![]() I am new to reefing - just finished curing two weeks ago - added 4 snails (not cerith) and a hermit crab last week - and am seeing what resembles cerith babies (4 seen so far). Also have a white mass (approx 3mm in diameter) on a piece of rock that may be more babies coming. Anyone know how I can tell if the current babies are cerith or pyrams? I can only think they must have been hijackers... as my 2 of my current snails are turbo shaped (not acutal turbos, but the name fails me at the moment), and the other two (again, the names fail me) are cylinder shaped, approx 2" at the base, about the same in height, and are pink and white. So far the babies have only been seen on rock, not on any of my inverts. Thanks.
