![]() I bought a rock with a mess of these on it. At first I thought they were Mushrooms of some sort. Now I'm not too sure. Is there such a thing as a Mini Anemones? The are scattered everywhere on the rock, but all of them seem to be coming out of a crack or crevice. In the one picture its in a hole and extends out.

![]() Are there different variety's of aiptasia ? I've had my fair share, but they were all the same dull brown color with long tentacles that protrude from the rock. These are green with short tentacles that sit flat on the rock.

![]() They are these:http://www.melevsreef.com/id/majano.html
Mine looked more like your than his but still the same. They can be pretty but will take over a tank in no time. Zap them now before it is to late...lol

![]() I've had Majano's too, but these don't strike me as being them. I hate to kill anything unless i'm sure it's going to negatively affect other things in the tank.
I too questioned whether they were button polyps, but why do they only grow in a crack, or groove? Kind of like they are protecting their foot. Last edited by scumchug; 08-21-2008 at 03:10 AM. |
