![]() Just wondering has anyone used Aircanada Cargo to ship corals? Looking at their website they seem to list Live Rock and Fish in their live cargo. Just wondering what others have to say.

![]() Safer to send it by rickshaw or carrier pigeon than Air Canada. Try Westjet.

![]() If you want to use WJ you will want to see what their policy is in regards to shipping corals. I used to ship birds on a fairly regular basis using WJ but in Feb. they changed their policy and now all live shipments can only be made through persons who are registered with them.
"Please be advised that effective February 4th, 2008, cargo will only be accepted from Commercial WestJet Cargo / ELS Marketing LP account holders or approved Live Animal Shippers. Cargo shipments tendered by individuals/general public or non-account holders will no longer be permitted on WestJet aircraft. Due to the ongoing changes within the air cargo industry, we feel it is necessary that our policies must reflect these changes. These changes are due to the on-going implementation of increased security requirements set by Transport Canada for air cargo shipped on passenger aircraft tendered from individuals / general public. WestJet Airlines has requested this change. The Live Shippers Application is for non-registered companies, or for companies that wish to use the services of WestJet Cargo, but do not require a credit account. Those who may complete the application must be affiliated with a club such as a kennel club (including any back up information or certificates) or have a valid company website. This application is still subject to approval" |

![]() I've done live shipments using Westjet and Air Canada.
Westjet was great. They gave me a flight number and the live cargo showed up as planned. Air Canada lost the shipment twice and it finally showed up 18 hours late. It was a royal pain because they had no idea where the parcel was and which flight it would arrive on. I went to the airport the second time to pick it up and was told it hadn't left Vancouver yet. When I got back home from the airport I got a call saying it had been sitting in Calgary all morning. The problem is not all their fleet has pressurized cargo areas so live cargo can be moved to another flight because the flight it was booked on changes to non-pressurized. They didn’t have a clue when it would arrive until it showed up in Calgary which makes it a real hassle to pickup. Three trips across the city to the airport and all worked out in the end. If ordering live cargo again I would choose a vendor that uses Westjet. |

![]() I agree that Air Canada sucks as I've had problems with them too. I also know of many, many others that have their own horrible stories about AC. I had always had great service with WJ, never a problem but now that their policy has changed I can't ship through them. They're also cheaper than Air Canada.

![]() The main problem I have found with AC is that if you are not in the flight with the animals they will constantly get bumped. I had a baby parrot that showed up 14 hours late as they kept delaying shipping him due to the flights being full, luckily the guy in cargo stayed 3 hours late and waited for him to come in, if not he would probably have died as was was still being handfed. Someone else that I know had their parrot left on the runway in -30 weather, so needless to say you know the outcome of that situation, and I personally will never use them again.
