PC vs. T5?

I'm currently running 2 96W PC on my 80g cylinder. I just broke one of the bulbs

But that means now i can perhaps upgrade. I can't run MH as the tanks covered with a canopy. What is the best kind of lighting fixtures that you can put under a canopy? Are T5's better than PC? Please keep in mind that i only have room for 2 24" fixtures maximum. Thanks in advance...
