Needing ideas for stand and canopy

I'm looking for pictures of some stand/canopy combinations that have been built using a 2x4 or 4x4 frame. I'm having one built and am having a hard time convincing the guy (cabinet maker) to make a frame under the plywood. He thinks it will be strong enough (and he might be right), but I would feel a lot more comfortable knowing there is a strong frame that won't distort from the humidity. The tank I am upgrading to is a 90 gal that has 2 overflows in the back (not bottom).
I'm also looking for ideas on design and a "user friendly stand". The ideas I have so far are quite limited.
The stand will house a DIY acrylic sump w/ refugium, pump, in sump skimmer, phosban reactor, 2 ballasts for the lights, timers and plumbing. The lights are "Aquaperfekt photon plus" https://wwws.aquaterrashop.de/meerwa...oducts_id/5546 (this was a deal I couldn't pass up).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would definately put a 2X4 frame on it.

Pretty basic but very strong. I got the 4 doors from IKEA in their clearance area for about $10 each

First tank I had was a 75g with factory stand. It was made just from HDF (laminated) with cutouts which door were placed over, so there can be strength without a frame.

To do a framed stand is simple also. I put my 75g sump on a 4' stand made from 2x4. I did 2 2x4 in each corner, glued and screwed together in a V shape which was probably overkill. Each corner has leveling feet. I left mine open but could easily finish by attaching plywood panels.

The stand under my 110 has no 2x4's in it. It is made of 3/4" ply. There are four vertical pieces under the top. It has a door on either end and 3 drawers in the middle. Not really useful for a sump but handy for holding up a freshie tank and storing all my salt crap underneath. I could probably get a 25 gal in one side for a sump.

To answer the question no you don't need 2x4's, but to provide space for a sump I think they would add piece of mind.

why not do as I did and weld a stand together? mine is also powdercoated to eliminate rusting. do it once pay a little extra save alot in the long run and be confident that you are equipped to set a dump truck on your stand! just a thought
